Anup Kaphle is an editor and producer at WashingtonPost.com.

He is an award-winning multimedia journalist whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, The Globe and Mail, Forbes.com,The Kathmandu Post and Nepali Times among others. Before joining the Washington Post, Anup was a digital media fellow at the Atlantic, where he helped edit and launch new online features and websites for the Atlantic, including the Atlantic Wire.

Anup recently received a grant from the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting to travel to Nepal and report on the Maoist rebels and the ongoing political deadlock (read his story here). He received the 2009 South Asian Journalists Association Reporting fellowship to report in Afghanistan where he was embedded with the British and Canadian troops. His video "From Himalayas to Helmand" was published in the Atlantic, and featured in the New York Times Lens blog.

Anup has an M.S degree (specialized in new media) from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where he won the Henry N. Taylor Award, given to the top international student. He was also awarded the Foreign Press Association's first prize in 2008. Anup received his B.A. in English from Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee.

When not playing with Final Cut Pro and Flash, Anup cooks some mean lamb curry, listens to Rage Against the Machine and disappears in Twitterland.
